So we were learning about the several uses of the dative case (for nouns) in Latin class this morning and this was one of the examples our instructor used.
I'm rather pleased with how it turned out, particularly the illuminations and the border. And the actual gothic lettering, neither of which are strong points for me (as many of you can attest to...) Latin: "nobis propositum est vera discere." English Translation (probably not very literal): "It is our intention to learn the truth." Date Completed: 10.15.2007 Time: About three hours total Alphabet: Blackletter Gothic Materials: 2.5 mm black chisel point calligraphy pen, various sharpies, silver metallic permanent marker, 0.3 mm black drawing pen Calligraphy and artwork is copyright me. |
